Is it possible to burn dual layer onto 4.7gb discs?

Hi all,
New to all this and have a liteon 832s dual layer burner. Just wondering if you can burn dual layer to a std 4.7gb disc or only to double layer media? If only to dual layer media anyone got recommendations for the liteon?

You would have to shrink the movie down to fit on a single layer disc thus reducing the overall quality but there are planty of progs around to do this for you ie dvd shrink , instant copy , clonedvd to name a few

You can only burn dual layer on dual layer media. Standard 4.7 discs are single layer.

you can split a dual-layered disc across two single-layered discs as well, although it's obviously not as convenient. there aren't many dvd+r9 manufacturers right now to recommend from, so you should just see what you can get.
