Ok here is the deal I bought a Pacific Digital Mach48 drive and it was a lite on drive it said lite on on it and every thing looks just like my lite on drive in my other computer ok so i am positive its a lite on drive. Now my friend wanted a burner for his computer so i recomended this same drive for his computer so he went and purchased one of these drives exact sme drive but from a different store now Phisically his drive looks identical and same lable on the front button and lite but his doesnt say lite on onit any where and says it a pacific digital model CDR-5W48 I just want to make shure its a lite on before I install it. any help would be appreciated Thanks a lot GIL

yea i know this happened to me recently i went to office depoe and looked at a cyndine 48X12X48 and it was a lite on then went to staples and bought 2 because they were on sale for 39.00 got them home and opened one of them the box on the outside said 48X12X48 but inside was a cyndine 48X16X48 so i returned them

It says it has smart burn buffer management technology so it probably is a liteon so i will install and should be able to see for shure thanks for your help

Bro most Liters & rebadge Liters av a round ridge on top plate cover. Also many time on package it does not state smartburn on these rebadged Liter's untill you install and use your burnin s/w. Now now we av to look out for de new JVC buner comin soon which is as you know Lite-on but a better case design :D ;) and may a better burner too.:cool:
