Is DVD2one Being Actively Updated and Improved ?

Hello Folks,

Perchance does anyone know about the status of the DVD compression program DVD2one?

As far as I can tell the latest version of DVD2one is version 1.5.1, which was released 5 months ago.

I have visited the “DVD2One Official Support Forum” located at CDFreaks Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78) and there is very limited recent activity there.

To me it appears that the DVD2one Software Program developer has forgotten about this Software Program.

Can anyone shed some light on what is happening to DVD2one Software Program?

Best Regards,

He Thats Exactly What i Want To Know..!

Maybe Because There Is Alot Of Other DVD Encoding / Ripping Proggy's Out There
They Might Have Decided To Eliminate The Software WHO KNOW ?

Anyways Does Anyone Know On What's Happening ? :):):)

I guess it's just the advent of dual-layer media, Instant Copy is dead AFAIK, DVD Shrink ditto so it would not surprise if DVD2One has gone the same way and just lying dormant.

The basic problem with DVD2One is it costs money, while there are free solutions that do a very similar job.

Untill the price comes down, shrinking will still be a popular alternative to DVD+R DL - as well as avoiding the sometimes poor compatibilty of the media with players (setting booktype to DVD-ROM is practically essential to get any playability)

Hello Folks,

I have visited the “DVD2One Official Support Forum” located at CDFreaks Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78) and the DVD2one Forum located at (http://www.dvd2one.com/forum).

The only reference at either of the two Forums making the statement “DVD2One Official Support Forum” is at the CDFreaks Forum.

There is no announcement of any kind at either at the CDFreaks Forum or the DVD2one Forum that the new “DVD2oneOfficial Support Forum” has changed from CDFeaks to DVD2one.

It should be noted if in fact the DVD2one Official Support Forum is located at DVD2one Forum the DVD2one Forum is rather “Dead”. There are very few recent postings at the DVD2one Forum. There are no discussions at the DVD2one Forum concerning updating and improving the DVD2one Software Program.

It is rather obvious since it has been 5 months since an update has been released to the DVD2one Software Program that the DVD2one Software Program “Dead” no longer being updated and improved by the developer.

When DVD2one was first released about 2 years ago it showed promise to become a great software program. The competitor’s products have now surpassed the capabilities of DVD2one v1.5.1. It is a shame that the DVD2one developer has chosen to forget about the DVD2one Software Program and not provide updates and improvements to the software program. Competition between Software Developers is good for the consumer because in the long run it produces a better product for the consumer.

Perchance if possible could a register user of the DVD2one Software Program comment if the developer has provided any insight as to the present status of the DVD2one Software Program. Does the developer have intensions of continuing with the development of this Software Program.

The developers quoted on another forum (cant remember but it wasnt even their own forum) that they would not be developing DVD2One anymore. But a few months later they issued 1.5.1 to everyone surprise. But yopur right in that their forum is dead and the program appears to be dying with it. When they left CDFReaks and started their own forum but only allowed registered DVd2One owners to post, that was the death nail for the product. They chose that path, they take to consequences. DVD95Copy went the exact same way, though there is an occassional update for that one and their official forum is "deader" than DVD2One's.

At the end of the day, who really cares if it dies or not, there are just so many products out there now that have flooded the market and all basically do the same job. They range from free to rip-off priced, so just choose your own poison. Or better still, try a true encoder like ReBuilder.

Now now have DL media. So when the DL media matures in prices, we really dont need any of them. All that's needed is something to remove the Adverts, FBI warnings, etc.

They are focussing on another product, already for a while now,a product that has almost no competition ATM,and certainly no free programs that do the same...

this is a bs-i tryed it..Its just a resampler and if you wanna do that there is some good free ones(like the one in foobar)-still if audio cd is 16b,44hxz you can go up all the way-doesent matter, you cant make it sound 10 times better,,
and this is a fact-not bs

Hello Folks,

Thanks for providing the insight on the DVD2one Software Program.

Concerning the DVD2one Audio Remaster program. This program also appears to be “Dead”. The DVD2one Audio Remaster was last updated 5 months ago and I consider that a “Beta” Software Program with numerous bugs.

Foobar is not even remotely familiar to that task, so please stop making non-sense...
Wavelab 5 and Instant CD/DVD (both from Pinnaclesys) are, although none of them is close to freeware.

DVD2one V1.5.2 released Wednesday 2 February 2005

Hello Folks,

Well it appears that the folks at DVD2one are in fact working on updating and improving the DVD2one Software program.

DVD2one V1.5.2 released Wednesday 2 February 2005

Revision History –

Added checks to verify the consistency of structures in the IFO files and to correct them if necessary. This solves problems with movie-only copy of Alien Quadrilogy.

Added program chain analysis to detect and remove damaged parts of the DVD for ARccOS disks like Resident Evil Apocalypse, The Forgotten, Little Black Book, The Grudge and Wrestlemania.

Improved IFO rebuilding for full disk copy and relaxed the error handling. If possible the IFO structures are corrected instead of giving an error message and aborting processing.

Improved layer-break removal for full disk copy and layer-break detection for movie-only.

If interested you can visit the DVD2one Web Site located at http://www.dvd2one.com

Best Regards,
Coaster

Thanks for the update and since I'm a registered user of DVD2One (not that I use it for compressing :D) I'd better grab the update.

this software is not dvd-audio new audio format, this is their way of making"""enhanced sound""" which fails-at least imo...
if you think that youre getting dvd-audio compliant files with this bs proggy,
good luck and enjoy the software

just checked the steinberg site, wawelab it does now support dvd-audio,i think thats the only one outhere software which do that/?
anyway that dvd-audio and audio from dvd2one people is not the same thing..
