DAMN

Communications

3.4 megabits per second
How communication devices are rated. Kilo means 1,000 and mega means 1,000,000. Examples include 56k modem and 10Mbit Ethernet
Storage

413.8 kilobytes per second
The way data is measured on your hard drive and how FTP programs measure transfer speeds. Kilo is 1,024 and mega is 1,048,576.
1MB file download

2.5 seconds
The time it would take you to download a 1 megabyte file at this speed.

Hi,

Communications: 1.7 megabits per second
Storage: 211.2 kilobytes per second
1 MB file download: 4.8 seconds

Cable modems rule!

this website gives mixed batch of bandwidth speed (sometimes doesn't even work lol).
I found this one to be a little more accurate at times:
h``p://www.dslreports.com/tools (click on speed tests)

Broadband wizard+serial+4.0 update

I have DSL also and the upload is lousy but I tweak the speed alittle with this prog. But of course it works better on downloads and you can also use it on 56k. Install the BBwiz and use the serial to reg it and then install the 4.0 update over it. No problem. Enjoy!!! P.S. Oh yeah and it also has it's own speed test.

@HULK ;)

what was your speed before using it and what is it now ? I mean .. how good is the tweak?

Hey elpresidente, Using this prog and some constant tweaking til I got it right I went from 542 kbps down and 96 kbps up to 697 down and 115 up. Hey It's better than nothing. Before I got my DSL I went from 3.6 kbps to 6.4 on some occasions. But I guess the average was 5.5 on 56k. Not bad.
