I'm looking for a program that can change Windows settings to improve internet speed. Preferably one that will do this automatically; analyse the connection and recommend the necessary changes. There seem to be a lot of programs that can do this. My problem is that I don't know anything about them, so I don't know which one to choose. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

There are a few programs that claim to do this but most just use caching of web pages automatically as you read the first page it spiders off and fetches back all pages that are linked to the main site so it looks like yer browsing faster but its not really its cheating 
on modem you will be hard pushed to get any more juice out of yer internet speed and if you have a poor line then you will have worse trouble most of these programs simply either do not work or just change the amount of packet flow from the windows standard settings! on modem this is bearly noticable !
SOLUTIONS a) get ADSL /CABLE/OTHER
b) use a cache program as described above
c) use a download manager to help with downloads and file transfers !
d) use two phone lines these have to be individual seperate lines two internet accounts and two modems in your puter then enable the computer to use both modems (more info on this by searching the web for duel modem use) to technical for me to explain in simple terms here unless someone else wants to enlighten !! lol
other than gettin BROADBAND connection yer pretty much stuck for speedups with surfing !?
perhaps use OPERA browser this is quite a speedy browser and you can switch of images with a single click so only text just loads which makes things faster for general use !!
