I just installed windows 98 because i have no xp cd. And now all my mmorpg and other online games freeze while im playing them. I used to have xp pro and they worked fine but now i have 98 and they freeze all the time. The freezes will usually be within 10 minutes of playing. No error messages come up or anything.

98 is not that great of an operating system espesh when it comes to the latest games 
and maby you havent updated to direct X 9 or the latest drivers for everything !?

Like VIPER had said, U will need the latest DirectX version & updated drivers for Ur graphics, sound & motherboard chipset drivers
Although 98 is gettin old in the tooth, it is still a good OS for games as it uses way less resources than say XP, when i used 98se i never had any probs with games, sadly it wasnt that way with XP, but after tweakin services & settings, it can be ok lol

Oh maybe i should just get the windows xp cd. I realised that they got a $100 price difference between home and professional xp.So whats the difference between them two. I used to have pro but i didnt see any difference between pro and home besides the names of them on the startup screen. What one do you recomend me getting. I use my computer for mostly online games emails and using webistes....so mostly internet stuff
