Instantcopy new superfast & easy authoring methods
:EDIT: this also works with version 7 update 2:
there is a simple way to crop the start/middle/end of any title you want, so you can get rid of the start/end credits of the movie for example
you can cut out partial or complete chapters/cells so it's like the reauthor feature in DVDShrink but you get to keep all the menus/extras also
all you do is change a few numbers in IFOEdit and anyone should be able to do it as no VOB modifying is needed, they remain untouched, just simple copy 'n' pasting figures does it
this method works with IC8 but it may work with other tools and it's all done previous to using the backup tool as you only modify a few numbers in the IFO to 'trick' the program into seeing only what you want it to see therefore the finished product does not include the bits you 'hide'
IC8 removes complete titles (PGC's) anyway (excellent feature) but this method removes parts of titles. You can either remove complete chapters or cells or even parts of chapters and cells
I would have posted more info quicker but I've been trying to trick DVDShrink also but have yet to solve it as it recognises it as unreferenced material. I have posted on the DVDShrink forum regarding this but this method may also work for other DVD backup tools such as IC7, DVD2One etc which I cannot test so I will be posting a guide soon so users can try it
I'm still playing at the minute though trying to understand what's going on and to find the simplest method that will work best as there are a few ways to do it and some have errors (though that can be overcome also)
for example, it takes me about a minute to crop the end of the movie but explaining how & what is going on to others would take me an hour so I've just gotta get my head round it first so I can make a simple guide
there are no guarantees it will work but it seems OK to me using PowerDVD but I'm not sure about fussy standalones (I don't have a working standalone at the minute so I'm off to borrow one) but maybe with some feedback from users it can be overcome as I know there will be questions and problems
and if it does work maybe some clever whizz can create a GUI or automate the process because all you are doing is rearranging the IFO
