Instant Copy7>Eight Mile

I just used this software(latest version)to backup the movie Eight Mile (approx.6.3 gigs).I left all the extras, and used the default settings to transcode. It took approx.2 hours to transcode (P4@1.8 ghz.)The resulting movie was 4.2 gigs(approx).

I played it back on a 32 inch TV.The results were excellent.Just FYI!;)

Nice one m8.
Just think what it will be like when they maximise disc space.
That is the one main failing of an otherwise excellent program.

Yep,this is an improvement of about 400 megs from previous attempts.Just noticed there is a new patch for the software.Need to install it.Maybe that will help matters a little more.:)

Maybe.
It seems a shame to waste the space.
I'm sure they will fix it soon.
Altho I dont know why it is such a problem.
Its good to see all 3 new type "compressors" updating now.
It shows that the competition is working in our favour. :D

Dunno about the new patch woody as I've not done a film with it yet. But what I have found is that if I used the reg hack and set the output size to 4.7GB and also set it up to burn straight to DVDR instead of HD then the final file size is more or less spot on on every film I've tried. (Thanks go to a number of geniuses at Doom 9 forums for their input on IC 7) I found if I set it to copy to HD and burn later then almost every time the size would be 4.13GB. :(

But maybe the new patch has sorted this problem at last. ;)

Thanks for that tip Laz!Just used default settings to this point. It is a problem they need to adress,as already stated..The software we use is more desireable if it is user friendly, and easy to set up.I really can't be bothered making umpteen settings changes.Call me lazy or stubborn...LOL!:D

Will try the reg hack next time to set it as you mentioned though.;)
