Instant Copy 7 Error Help

I had Instant Copy 7 installed for several months. It allowed me to edit a DVD and fit it to one DVD+r. However, recently I began getting and error message that says:

"Access violation at address 04463B00 in module 'vobsrc.ax' read of Addresss 000000000"

This happens when I select the ifo files I need to edit the DVD. Does anyone have any sugesstions what is going on? The program used to work just fine. I would rip with dvd decrypter and edit and burn with Instant copy. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi cjdub!

This might be too simple, but it could be
that some files got corrupt!

Did you already try to uninstall and reinstall IC ?

usual a good thing to try!

Instant Copy Access Violation

I too have had my copy of instant copy v7 working then on day clicked on the icon, and up can the access violation message as previous.

The program then comes up but I have not tried writing anything in fear of the machine crashing or something.

Any suggestions besides uninstalling/reinstalling which I have already tried.

Thanks

I have been getting the same message, it is aggravating to say the least.
I have installed and uninstalled ic7 and ic8, sometimes it fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. The last time I got it to work, I did not install instant drive, just left it off. This is a problem with me and like I said, sometimes installing and uninstalling works, for a while and then I get that access violation at "vobsrc.ax." I spent a day searching google for an answer and also Pinnacle. Never have found an answer. The closest to an answer, that I have found is what "TheMadGuy" posted. Maybe we will get lucky and somebody can determine what causes this.???

It is probably solved for your guys but for everybody else experiencing the same frustration, here is the solution:

The problem is not InstantCopy, but the ripper software you are using (e.g. DVDDecrypter). Sometimes these programs accidentally remove a little bit too much besides Macrovision protection and CSS copy protection, and leave you with a corrupt DVD image (although they might have been working flawlessly for months).

I suggest that you change to another ripper and you will have solved the problem. I recently moved from DVDDecrypter to DVDShrink (by setting the output to No Compression and to your hard drive you will not use the built in and rather poor recording engine). The resulting image can then be mounted as a virtual disc with for instance Daemon Tools and then recorded and burned by InstantCopy. Problem solved!

thanks for the input, mine was solved when I uninstall instant drive and do not use it, also disabled it in the system. Will keep your idea in mind,if problems starts again and disabling instant drive doesn't work.
thanks.
