Instant 8 DVD to Hard Drive Crash Problem

I'm trying to BACKUP my DVD using Instant Copy 8.
But it always crahes around 3.69 to 3.70GB area, and there are no scratches on the DVD.

Below is the error msg I'm getting

Faulting application icopy.exe, version 8, faulting module vobtrans.ax, version 1.0.0.66, fault address 0x0003a881.


Anyone have solution to this problem?

Thank you for your reply.

I had looked all the possible DVD forums about this error, but one seems to have the answer for it. Even the forums on the Pinnacle website.

I'm running on Pentium 4 1.8Ghz 512MB Rambus, two 80GB Hard Drive on Raid 0.

I didn't want to use other programs, because Instant Copy gives you the best quality.

I tried a different copy method.
I used DVD Decrypter to move the DVD files to Hard Drive first, then use InstantCopy to compress the file from HD to HD. However, the program still freeze up. So, I think I will move back to Instant DVD 7.

There is a new problem now.

When I'm trying to use Instant copy Settings Editor. I'm getting error
"Your Version of InstantCopy is 7.0.0.80 which doesn't support any of the settings this program changes. Besides, it's pretty buggy!

What should I do with this error.

I still prefer to use Instant DVD 8 if anyone has any solution to the problem on the 1st post.

Hi azukre!

Sorry, but i cant help you with the hanging issue of IC8, since i havent encountered such a proplem yet.

But to the Error you get with InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor, i can provide help. The message means, you are using the initial release of IC7, which just as the message states, didnt support any hidden settings and was quite buggy, the solution is simple : get the InstantCopy 7 Update 3 which will fix most of the bugs, add support for the hidden settings and brings your version to the most recent state for IC7.
