Incomplete encode

Tried to convert an avi using the dsroba method which usually works fine for me. Trouble is that on this occasion it only encoded to about 1.5gb of the video instead of the nornal 4.5gb. The audio is complete and continues after the video halts.
The avi plays fine as an avi. Have checked it with divfix and virtual dub which shows no signs of error.
Anyone know whats wrong?

Cheers

If its large AVI and has been joined ( not by you ) then depending on how they did it, encoding can stop at that point. I've seen that a few times myself. To overcome it, I load the avi into VirtualDUBMOD, set video compression to Xvid and a bit higher than what it originally was, then Save AVI. This re-encode avi to avi will lower the final quality just a bit but hey, if its the only was to get it onto a DVDR then your little choice.

Alternatively, I have actually tried MainConcept MPEG Encoder, quality is less than CCE but it seams to tolerate a few more AVI internal problems that CCE/Avisynth cant handle.

Best of luck :)
