Improving the layout?

How about restacking the buttons to make SEARCH more visible?

I use 800x600, and I only see up to "MEMBERS" without H-scrolling, and since everyting else fits, it's easy to miss!

A 2 line arrangement would make better use of available space, while 3 lines would probably eliminate the horizontal scrollbar altogether for me and most other 800x600 users.

So people on higher resolutions see a dead space on the right, with only the buttons above it? I'd switch res now, but I wouldn't trust the result!

Yep...the forum Logo is too big..It is pushing the buttons off the page.I will talk to N.B. about the problem.He is quite busy as you know.It might take a little while.;)

Yep! or restack the buttons in a block, or underneath the logo

Even WITH the search visible, you can bet people will still need reminding to use it :D

That is what I call a design flaw ..
I will check on a good solution and will post once I did something to fix it !

Did change the design now a little bit ..
The "control bar" is now at the bottom of the logo and not next to it ..
Had some troubles, but with some tables I fixed it ...

Okay now ?

Hope that they see the search button.
IMHO, u should make the buttons bigger, and center the logo.

All we need now is a repeating flash message at 120db.

"USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!"

Then again some people still couldnt be bothered.:rolleyes:

I am not sure if that would be good ...

Bigger buttons, yeah that is an option ..

Same button as Cell background, and different text over it maybe?

Not quite as stylish, but faster and less bandwidth - though with luck, various proxies and caches reduce the number of image hits.


Presumably there are several skins for the forum - I don't usually bother looking beyond the defaults unless they look like a 3 year old let loose with a paint pot!

Buddy, why's the "log out" button still shows log out, even though we have already logged out?
Should have been "log in" IMHO
Also, can you move the login bar to the top. I'm too lazy to scroll down for login.
