Im new to the forum and need help

Hi
i am new to the forum and i am glad i found you, i am hoping someone can help me cause i am lost.

I have the newest version of nero and i also got the plug in for conversion of movie files.

I copied a movie onto nero yesterday, it converted and burned everything went smoothly but when i tried to play it in my dvd i got nothing no movie squat! So i thought maybe it was my player so i put it into my psx2 but i got nothing there either.

Today i am trying again with svcd and i have turned off the buffer underrun in hope to try to get a movie showing.

If anyone can give me any help i would GREATLY HUGEEEEEEly appreciate it....i just dont understand where i went wrong and i dont have a booklet for nero as i got it when i bought my cd burner so i am uneducated with it and at a loss as to what i should do...

thanks guys
Kris

I assume your trying to convert a downloaded AVI (DivX) movie and trying to use Nero. Nero is good as a general burning tool but absolute crap when it comes to encoding movies.

I would suggest you have a read of this tutorial that explains how to convert your DivX to get some great results.

Any further problems, just post.

What do you use to burn yours then?? :) I use Nero all the time and never end up with any errors ,

But then again you are the Master so I should just shut up lol

well i tried divfix with no errors reported......is it just avi files that can be converted with this process, maybe i have the wrong file format, im not sure

@krissy - Also install the 5.02 divx codec, get from _www.divx.com

@t0ucan - Yes many use Nero to actually burn the MPG file to make the VCD but NOT to use Nero to encode to VCD. The encoder with Nero is an early Ligos LSX and its quality is absolute crap.

The key words are MAKE & ENCODE, there is a big difference.

hi again chickenman

well i have all the software installed but no it seems i have a new problem.

I just tried to open dvd2scvd and i got a new error besides the one i already have.........now i get a "win32 error code87 the parameter is incorrect"

I am sorry to be a pain but any help you could give me i would appreciate it

thanks

Again, what version of DVD2SVCD have you installed and what version of Windows are you running? DVD2SVCD is a very stable product so to get an error is suggesting there is a problem elsewhere in your system.

The latest version of DVD2SVCD is actually 1.1.0 Build 1 and is an attachment to this thread at doom9 forum. I've been running it now for 5-6 weeks. It in about the 8th post down,

Hi chickenman

Sorry its taken a while to get back to you, i formatted my hard drive and had my brother whos a tech go through and make sure there were no errors with my system

I tried running dvd2svcd 1.1.0 but it kept asking me for dvd2avi software when the file i have is in avi format, so i downloaded dvd2svcd 1.0.9 bundle 3 and all the other software required, but to no avail.

I get a window stating that Besweet has caused an error and then after that i get the 'read beyond end of file' error.

I am totally at a loss but i am very patient and will follow any instructions that you could think of giving me so i can resolve this.

Thanks for all your help

Kris
