I tried many "regcleaners", and if you don't use it with care at some point they screw up the registry.
Of course you said you're lazy and you want an "automatic cleaning", in that case the only cleaner that never failed me is "Norton Windoctor", the one included in Norton Systemworks/Norton Utilities. Even with this app I always repaired every "error" by hand.
I tried also the freeware "RegCleaner"(http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/regcleaner.shtml) that may clean much more, but if you start to auto-delete the info without watching first, sooner or later...
- "Norton WinDoctor" for repairing and automatic cleanig (secure but not so deeply);
- "RegistryTool" as part of "jv16 PowerTools" for a deep, deep, manual cleening;
