Ikebana CDR problems

Hello guys im new hope this is the right place to post this. I just purchased a new ikebana 24x10x40 IDE cdr, it uses the supplied nero v5 software. This is on a fresh install of windows 98 SE with a 2ghz pentium and 1 gig Ram. the problem is it read all cds fine but once you put in a CDR or RW it just says devic not ready. i tried to reinstall InCD and nero but this did not cure the problem. The first night i installed the drive it worked correctly. i formated one CDRW let it finish then shut the computer down for the night. when i tried to use The CDR or format it just gives the device not ready error when i did not change anything from the previous night of formating the one CDR, any help is appreciated.

also do i need any drivers to install the drive? in device manager it says there are no drivers installed for the cdr but it reconizes it and says there are no conflicts. any help is appreciated

you need no additional drivers, InCD alone is enough;
notes:
- InCD is only usable with CD-RW media;
- "Auto Insert Notification" must be activated

Any other (conflicting) burning software installed?
CloneCD, Alcohol 120%, Windows MediaPlayer > v.7, MusicMatch Jukebox, RealPlayer Plus?

I know i repeat muself.....But i would strongly recomend to uninstall incd..Its a packetwriter..And there is not worst thing on pc..except viruses and trojans..Also..You have to have a driver installed by your os for cd-rom..i think..Couse on all my sofar windows installation..os was recognizing the hardware and giving a driver..But no additional were needed........So for end.......Keep just Nero..you will be much happier..Also for win98..If you use eac..you would need aspi..couse works much better with..or take a nero aspi.... :)
