IFOEdit Hangs (Sometimes)

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes when IFoEdit is running, it will hang and I have to click "Quit" for it to finish. Once I hit "Quit", it seems to finish up fine and I was wondering what may cause this. Sometimes it runs smoothly and finishes on its own. Anyone else run into this?
I am using IFOEdit 95 and it has happened on all versions of DVDStripper. Thanks for any help and thanks for the great program MackemX.

MackemX and I are working on a solution to this, but in the meantime you can try out my theory to fix this problem. Try running a CPU Killer type program in the background on DVD's that hang. It's worked for me almost everytime. Google "CPU Lower" put it on it's highest setting. Let me know if it works for you.

Hello and thanks for the replies.

I am using Windows XP Professional. This problem has happened a dozen times or so since the initial release of DVDStripper and I am now using the latest version. I never use my computer while it works.

MackemX, I have not downloaded the files you mentioned in your post. I thought it was unrelated to my problem but if you think it will help, I will try it.

I will also try the CPU Killer program Tim254 mentioned if this is advised.

when it's hanging is it on the main page?, what is showing when it's hanging?

can you see the progress bar when it's normally processing?

what other programs are running at the time?

please tell me your sytstem Hardware (CPU etc)

It hangs on the main IFOEdit page. When it hangs it looks just like when you open IFOEdit by itself, no progress bar. It hangs differently for different jobs. Sometimes at the beginning of the ifo processing stage. Sometimes at the end. It only resumes after clicking "Quit". When it is actually processing, I can see the progress bar at the bottom of the page.

I have Norton Antivirus running. Probably should disable?

please tell me your sytstem Hardware, CPU, Hard Drive, memory etc

Norton AV is ok, it sounds like something is stealing the focus and also try downloading the missing files, if not I have something else to try

p.s. please try to anwer the questions I ask so I can get a better idea of what is going on as this is the 3rd time I have asked for your setup

Sorry, can't see anymore, I guess.

CPU: Athlon 1.0 Ghz
Memory: 494 MB
Hard Drive: Western Digital 100 GB 7200 RPM
Video Card: NVidia TNT2 32MB
Sound Card: Soundblaster Audigy
Internet: Cable through Network Card

thanks for info ;)

I just wanted to know if you had a super fast PC, but your system should be fine

I suggest you try the 2 files available for download and then come back and tell me if you ever get hanging issues again so I can suggest more things to try :)

Well, I installed the two files and have done two "projects" without a glitch. This seems to have fixed my Ifoedit issue (so far). Thanks to everyone for your ideas and MackemX for the customer service and solution. Happy Stripping!

thanks for feedback, I appreciate it

pleased to hear that it worked ok with your last two projects, but let me know how it goes either way with a few more projects as I have other things you can try as I'd rather you confirm it worked on more projects before I see it as another satisfied customer ;)

cheers
