IDE nvidia driver...

I'm still having big troubles with my DRU510A and, by the way, the technical support for this drive in Canada is Almost unavailable... Sony just can't even listen to my troubles....

Anyway... I read the tutorial about the problems solving for writer. It is talking about the Nvidia IDE driver and I would like to know what it is, and (because I think I have it ) how to get around it or just remove it.

Is it better to go for a newer version or just remove it and change it (if so, what would be the best driver).

Thank you

Johnstar
P.S. If any one of you know how to get that drive working, I would appreciate!

all motherboards have associated drivers for their chipset that are supposed to improve performance beyond the default OS drivers. if u have an nforce/nforce2/nforce3 chipset, u would install the nforce drivers. however, the included ide drivers have been plagued with problems in the past; the most recent release (3.13) is supposed to fix most of these problems, but some users are still experiencing problems. u might want to give them a try.

i'll detail a way to use the default MS ide drivers if 3.13 doesn't work for u.
