IceAge Problem

IceAge
Region: 2,4
Copy Protection System Type: CSS/CPPM

I have tried SmartRipper2.41 to rip this but no luck.........
Then used the internal one in DVD2SVCD 109. 3 no luck...
Then used DVD Decrypter3.1.2.0 which gave me three vob files and they played ok in Power DVDxp ok then when i tried to do the encoding etc with DVD2SVCD109.3 plus Cinema Craft 2.50.01.00 it locked up at the 32% mark in the final stage..
I have followed ChickenMan's tutorial plus tried several variations all on three different PCs with all the same results.......

Maybe it has some better protection????????????

Any suggestions appreciated

I dont think its an special copy protection, some are just hard to extract. Friends have converted the R4 version (same as yours) without a problem so I know it can be done.

First thing is clean the DVD with some alcohol (not the drinking type!) even if it looks clean.

Its still possible that DVDDecrytor has not extracted the VOB files correctly. You did not say you tried vStrip to extract the VOBs (included with DVD2SVCD). Also give CladDVD XP a go (_http://clonead.cjb.net), I get some good results from it at times.

If these dont work then try using TMPGenc with DVD2SVCD (instead of cce), set to 2 pass VBR

ChickenMan hi there and thanks for the quick reply..

I tried the Vstrip in DVD2SVCD and it just locked up and that was on 3 PCs.
At the Moment Iam trying Clad DVD,I am in the middle of the rip and will let you know how it goes...

Thanks ChickenMan for your help, much appreciated.... :) :)

This worked for me

Smart Ripper would not do the job, so I used DVD Decrypt instead and that worked just fine.

In DVD2AVI the only setting I had to change from the 'box standard' settings was "MPEG Audio - Demux all Tracks"

Then used TMPGEnc.

I ripped the 4:3 movie (instead of the 16:9) and it's looking good in MPEG1 format on the PC, just finishing the burn for Vcd, which I'm sure will work just fine.

....DreeM :)

I ripped it with Smartripper (but maybe it depends that I still have the old Creative DVD5204e-1 5x)
DVD2SVCD 1.1.0 build 1b
CCE 2.50
Nero :)
