IC 8 not so good ?

I recently backed up a DVD using the "main movie only" option,
the main movie was 4.07 gig with all audio and the slide bar was at 100%,
I then played the film to find it was noticably less than the original quality !

Then used DVDShrink to do the same job and the size was 4.3 gig ,
when played back it was of perfect quality !

It seems that IC is still compressing the film even tho it will fit on a blank DVD anyway , and the slide bar is reading 100% (which sould mean no compression)

Im going back to dvdshrink if this is always the case.

Yep, a problem with films of this size. :(

That's why I almost always check my ripped files with DVD Shrink first to let me know the exact size when I am doing a Movie only disc, and if I can get it to the right size by removing foreign language etc without need for compression I always use Shrink to process and copy the files over to a VIDEO_TS folder.

Shrink has more than one good use. :D

Is this a bug in IC or is it just how it is ?
What about films that just need slight compression , is IC ok or will you still get a better result with DVDShrink ?

Just done another "movie only"
IC tells me it can do 100%
DVDShrink tells me it will do 99%
Which is right ? Which should i use ?
