I suck at this .. Burning mpeg to dvd Help

Well, i must be the worst DVD burner ever i took me around a week to make my 1st DVD.

I am taking my old family VHS - capturing them into a mpeg files- then i divided the big 2 hour mpeg into 10 small mpegs which i want to be my chapters on my dvd.

All i have is nero 6 trial version, and i have no idea what else do i need so basically i just put the files as chapters in nero and burn it.

Burn process completes but the DVD does not get detected on both of my dvd players
Playstation 2 and Pioneer ones ( says please insert disk ) when its already in

Is there any simple guides i can read up on? Or just few bits of advice? maybe i am missing some software ( if i do please tell me which do I need and what do they do.) Whats dvd decryptor , image maker etc? i have no clue...

You don't have to split your mpeg to get chapters, your authoring program will be able to do that for you.
