I bought a DVD200i that advertised it as having all its components, but it didn't have software CD#1. I have been looking everywhere for the drivers, but can't find them; the HP site for some reason doesn't have them. Actually, the HP site has been of little help, and I'm getting desperate for my $100+ piece of hardware to work.
My OS is Windows XP.
And I don't care if spammers get this: they already have it anyway: e-mail me the drivers at rcrabbs@cox.net

Please, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Spongebobbicus, Welcome to our forum! :)

DVD-Writers do not need a driver; you have only to plug in the ATA/IDE and the power cable; second thing is installing your formerly bought or the bundled (with the burner) burning software; if the burning software CD is missed, please contact your dealer or HP for a replacement;

You don't need any drivers- just a decent burning software to get it working. HP is bouncing between EasyCD Cremator, which is junk, and RecordNow (plain), which is quite good. I don't know what sofatware you got bundled with your burner.

If the CD is missing, presumably no software bundled!
If a drive can be seen (as a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM) by Windows, then it does not need "drivers" - but to be useful as a burner, it does need software.

This suggests that it's an OEM version of a RICOH MP5125A, which surprised me.

You could try BURNATONCE for the software, and the instuctions:

- and the tutorials section here for DVD to DVD using various tools
