my friend need a high quality sound card for audio and don't care about the gaming.

i have read this theard
hxxp://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9880&highlight=terratec

and i know that Terratec , Yamaha SW-1000XG , KORG 1212 IO and RME are good.

but now i see there is Audigy 2 from Creative and i see it's THX Certified and it has 6.1 channel and 24Bit/192KHZ .
hxxp://www.soundblaster.com/products/audigy2/

so how is the Audigy 2 compared to Terratec and Yamaha and Korg.

thanks..........

About audigy 2 we only know the spec but no one has tested it yet..well audigy 1 wasn't that good so I'd wait to hear some feedback before buying ;)
Terratec is known to be a very good card...and good price
If you need a pro card (expansive) you can check here:

or

I like creamware stuff like powersampler..:)

With Audigy 2 ,
does anyone know much about the DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT that supposedly will prevent playback of
pirated Music CDs and MP3s.

This little beauty is a hardware copyright management mechanism built into the new line of Creative sound cards, which (in theory and with the help of official drivers) will stop (render useless) pirated Audio CDs and illegal mp3 files.
Another good reason to not buy this one.. ;) Ok there will be an hack but wtf...better buy something else..:D

i can really recommend the terratec dmx 6fire 24/96
it's a great card with a nice front module for about 250 euros
i just love it :)

The Echo cards are excellent cards, more geared to
mid to high end audio production, but expensive.

Terratec cards are also good. I know a couple of people
that swear by the DMX 6Fire, both for audio production
and gaming. The breakout box makes connections real
easy.

M-Audio makes a range of cards, like the Audiophile 24/96,
which are aimed at audio production. Their cards start at
about $150 to $180US and go up from there.

For quality, dependable audio, just about any of the above
cards will leave Creative in the dust.

get a multi IO card. Like Poko mentioned Echo MIA is a good solution. One of my friends is a audio fanatic and is using MIA.

thank you very much

ok is there a big difference between 24Bit/96KHZ and 24Bit/192KHZ ????

and what is mean THX Certified ??? is it mean that the card is good quality by THX test or it's mean it's very good in watching movie ???

thanks.....

ok guys now i need two high quality sound card for both my friend.

1- one for 700$

2- one for 300$

thank you again ..........

ok i don't know much in audio things and i don't know what is the VST but if it's mean this :

VST = VST was designed from the beginning as a professional audio recording system. With internal 24-bit audio quality and 32-bit Floating Point Native Processing, it is the equal of any other current system, at a fraction of the price. VST's sophisticated audio handling means that sounds are always reproduced with maximum resolution. And VST can export 24-bit audio files as well as 16-bit and 8-bit.

then sure my friend will need it.

and about the Mia why there is no some thing like this
hxxp://www.ixbt.com/multimedia/terratec/6fire-dmx/front.jpg
or this
hxxp://www.echoaudio.com/images/laylalarge.jpg

and about the 300$ card what do you think should he take because he need a card with good output voltege.

please give me more choices so my friends can choose.

thank you very much.....

This is probably as inaccurate as hell, but, I think I got better sound quality reproduction from my SB Live! (not value) than I do the Audigy I purchased and used. It probably is just me but when I record into the line in, it seems I get more his than I use to.

There is an article comparing Terratec Fire6 to CL Audigy1 on Tom's Hardware site written by someone else than Tom...

You may find some of the info interesting and they point each card's advantages but lean for the Terratec card on the audio aspect.

You may wish to visit VIA's site where they show who uses their Envy24 chipset.

I can't say more as I'm a newbie in soundcards as I only have an old AOpen (4 year old) soundcard which I'm looking to upgrade in the future.
