How to

help

i have read the how to and keep getting the file is not supported when trying to use tmpge to convert the avi. file to the mpeg file, why ? the file plays fine on my computer ?please help, thank you

Seems to be a problem that occurs everynow and them. It seams WMP can see the Codec but TMPGEnc cant. Suggest you d'l the latest TMPGEnc ver 2.52 and try it as its more tuned for AVI than earlier versions.

Secondly, load the AVI file into VirtualDUB, in Audio tab set to Full Processing Made, then in Files tab, select Save WAV... Then in TMPGEnc, select the Audio source as the new WAV file, then the Video source as the original AVI. That works sometimes.

tried that

tried that, and the wav file saved ,but still the video file comes up as in error being cannot open or unsupported, going crazy now, please help, thank you

now ?

am using other s/w and it now comes up as not supported decompressor, what is wrong now, ready to quit and wait for the dvd to come out:mad:

Okay, then prob is with Video. Do as before, load AVI into VirtualDUB, then in Video tab select Full Processing Mode. Then select Compression and select DivX 4.x Codec and a bit rate of 2000. Then in File tab, hit Save AVI. This time it should convert the odd DivX compression to DivX 4.x compression. This could take 30min or more to complete.

Then use your new AVI in TMPGEnc as Video source and the WAV you saved out previously for Audio.
