how to to change the audio track in a svcd file?

on one side i got a movie in the svcd format with great picture but with a german sound. on the other side i posess the same movie in divx with poor picture but with an english sound.

thus my (crazy) question: does any one got an idea how can i drag off the german soundtrack from the svcd and implement the english one into it? is that possible at all?

no not possible. You need to do it straight from the source (in other words, the source has to have it available).
Unless ofcourse you are lucky enough to find the sound file for it off the net (highly unlikely though).

Extract the sound from the divx (likely mp3) and convert to wav.

Demux the m2v directly from the disc to hd with tmpeg mpeg tools.

Resync audio and video by cutting the wav. Hopefully you have a 25 fps PAL Divx. Otherwise you have to stretch the audio to the movie length, too.

At the end convert to mp2 and mux audio and video and author a new svcd.
A lot of work ...

ummm mb1, he doesn't have the sound file he wants.
What he wants to do is insert english sound over the german one (but how can he do this without the english sound file, as the original file only comes in german?)

PS
hahaha, ok ok, I think I miss-read his first thread.
He has it in 2 file formats:svcd & divx. He wants to take out the sound from the divx file to put in the other file lol
DOH!
OK, if that's the case, he can also extract the sound from the divx file with virtualdub. Just load file into vd & then choose save wav (that will be the sound file)
Now hopefully the sound will match the length of the SVCD video & you just have to use the video as source & new sound file as sound source when making a new divx/vcd/svcd file.

@shadoe_phantom

thnx for yr input guys.

i got to do it m8. she gets quicker and better results on reverse engeneering than me m8. i'm just a lamer compared to her m8. :(

rumzies, it's not you, it was just late night/morning & I had just had a workout & was quite sleepy actually. So was all me. Luckily mb1 picked it up.

As for the wifey thing:
LOL (for shame lol)

A lot of work and if both SVCD and DivX are in the same format (PAL or NTSC) then it should be fairly easy. I would re-mux in the final step with MPEG2VCR as it has an Audio offset that can be applied to get it in sync
