I switched cases one time due to mine getting damaged so I don't know what original case mine had so I don't know how to tell what version i have. Anyone know of any ways to tell what version your ps2 is once it is opened up?

sorry bud, looks like nobody has any answers on this one :(
the only methods I know of to identify PS2 versions involve looking at the original cases

@psx_paul maby some of your friends in the know may be able to tell you if theres any PCB differences between the models ?!

hey man
the best i would do is just look at some tutorials and look at the chip settings and different chips used in certain versions. Also the layout of some boards are different than others. Example the heat sink might be on the left on a v1-4 but could be on the right on v5-10. Also count the screws on your board that helps a lot as well. How many silver screws you have compared to the brass coloured ones. Hope this helps!!
