how to squeeze a 8 gig film to dvd-r

Hi I am new to backing up dvd`s and am struggleing to back up a 8gig film to dvd-r ive tried to shrink it with dvd shrink but it still comes in at just over 6 gig and was wondering if there was a program i could use to do this i`ve used dvd decrypter to rip and as i`ve said dvd shrink to shrink it and am now stuck can anyone help thanks in advance

Yep, that tutorial got me onto the straight and narrow.
I can now burn 8GB DVD's with no prob..Just follow the
instructions....Big thanks to whoever wrote that article.!!

1. Use Smartripper to burn all files to a folder on the Hard Drive.
2. Make another Folder
3. Use DVD2one and select source to the folder you made in step 1.
4. then select the New folder as the destination point in step 2 as this folder will be the compressed version.
5. Now that it's compressed, you can either use Clone DVD or Copy2DVD to get the compressed version on a DVD Media.
 
Thanks desavedo, yep that method works also. Except you need to purchase a lot of software and you end up with nothing any better in quality than whats used in Laz's method. Might be worth a try.
