How to split a DivX AVI file ...

... without recoding!

Today I had to split a 2,10 GB DivX coded AVI file into 3 parts to fit they on 3 CD-Rs. I didn't found the right info here (used the search button) and the tutorial titles are related to other topics. So i did the google trick and found this short and useful article.
The software you need is only an installed DivX codec (the one without the "Pro") and VirtualDub.

How to cut an AVI with VirtualDUB has been discussed here many many times but I will repeat it. A 4 line Tutorial is all thats needed really.

1. Load AVI into VirtualDUB, NanDUB or VirtualDUBMod
2. Set Video & Audio to Direct Stream Copy
3. Use the slider and small arrows to mark ou the bit you DONT want & hit DEL key.
4. Save AVI, then repeat for 2nd or 3rd part of the AVI.

@ CM

my topic should be an answer and not a question;
