how to remove install codec in WinXP ?

I install tons of codec old/news..........some never use........
how to uninstall some of the old codec.

thanks for any reply

In addition to Roadworker, if they are not causing any problems and they usually dont take up much room, just leave them there. You could end up making things worse by actually removing/deleting them if you cant un-install them.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

Make an install log using norton clean sweep.

locate the .dll .vxd etc. files and delete it.

Use the unreg wizard to unregister the codecs.

regsvr32 /s /u filename.dll

When the codec is allready active, check again the files in your windir.

If necessary boot your system in protected mode and try to delete them again.

Finally use an regcleaner to clear your registry.

That should work.

Norton Clean Sweep sucks, that's right, but it's good to create install logs.

DONT'T USE IT TO UNINSTALL PROGRAMMS!!!!!!

Only use NCS to create log files of citical programms.

When you have allready installed the programm run ncs and install it again, now you had an full install log, and you could delete all the files and entrys manually.

Do you know what i mean?!
