How to buy a website?

I know this might make me sound really stupid, but, where would i go if i wanted to buy my own website? and how much would it cost me?

I'm fed up of clumsy and and advert covered and uncustomisable piczo, freewebs, and moonfruit sites. But you get what you pay for!

So yeah.. where would i start and how much would it cost? A big question i suppose but any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.

Doesn't your ISP give you any space? - not premium, of course, but unless you want to do server-side stuff?

Deals are very confusing, as if you want a doman, there may be free hosting with a paid domain, paid hosting with a free or cheap domain.

Also depends where you are - the best UK ISP web space is http://freeola.com/free-web-site/
Never seen any other ISP that gives that much capability on their webspace (must upload using that ISP and keep account alive) - even with an 0845 payg dialup. Plus a free subdomain from a range of theirs.

its not his own net connection so not possible to use the isp service/space :(

You dont need to own linux to have a linux-server run website you fool! :p. So sorry to upset you, but dont try to act clever.

Well if you had stated linux run server in the beggining i would not of repiled with that would i n00b
