how to burn dvd`s

hello everyone im new to this forum and am desperate for help
i have a pc with the following spec
smsi 370 sound/graphics card
intel celeron 1.0ghz processor
512 mb sdram memory 52x cd rom drive
light on dvd r/rw
i am opperating under windows xp pro and it is ntfs(i think thats right
i have downloaded a movie and now want to copy this to a dvd
thats were i need help!!!!!!!!!!
what programs do i use is my system up to doing this and what else do i need to know cant you tell im new to all this
thanks god for this forum ive been reading through and you seem to be helping so many people im just hoping that you can give me some good advise as i dont know where to start

They are pretty ordinary links to that forum, if you have trouble going there then your system is fecked up...
