How to burn 2.1gigs into a single disc (700mb)????

A friend of mine had a CD with all editions of Win2K in it and told me that the CD was over 1GB, but I don't see how's that possible unless you trade error correction for space, or something like that.

Those called the N-in1 cd's. Similar program images are prepared where multiple identical files between the images are discarded, leaving only one set to share between them-- identical files are shared between the images, thus saving space.

You CAN get 1.7gb on a Linux CD with a compressed filesystem.

Check out knopper.net, follow the link to knoppix live linux CD. Kewl stuff. Boots and RUNS Linux off the compressed CD image on the fly. No need to install Linux on your HD to check it out or use it for whatever.

1.7gb. On 1 700mb CD.

Lets be right here U can only get 700 MB on an 80 minute disk >> the 700mb can of course be compressed so on decompressing to your hard drive U can have your 700mb +

...Or in this case with the compressed FileSystem, you don't have to decompress it to your hd; all 1.7gB is accessible from the Linux OS as it is running. It's just Read-Only.

its sony double density disk technology. you need a SONY compatible writer to burn such things on normal CDR.

I get 1.05 gb file onto a 99min CD, 905 mb onto a 90min CD and 805mb onto an 80min CD, but only when its a VCD or SVCD MPG file.

Ready for this, dummy files. I got an old game, when you copy files to compilation, it was reported to be over 3gig. So just remove them and voilà, normal size. Norton Super System works reports .99gig. That what someone else said tho', can't see previous post's when typing this to see. It was newby.
