how to add subtitles to an .avi????

hey all

can someone please give me a step-to-step guide on how to add subtitles to an .avi file??...i did a search online for guides but get really confused with what to do :confused:

i have the .avi, .sub and .idx all in the a dir with the same name...now its the confusing bit what do i do now? :eek:

Depends what you mean by add. Pretty sure that AVIMux GUI can mux idx subs into an AVI. You could use AVISynth and vobsub to re-encode, hard encoding the subs into the AVI.

Both would could be called adding subs to an AVI.

Guessing you mean playing back the avi with subs though?

Make sure that you are either using a player with built in subtitle support or have something like VSFilter installed. The subs should then autoload.
