hi if i convert a standard avi 700mb through tmpgenc 2.5 to ntsc dvd how long will that take about ive got a amd athlon 1.8

anywhere between 4 and 6 hrs unfortuantley for best results on HIGHEST QUALITY motion search in the settings :)

but then again its about the same with CCE too and DVD2SVCD without using D2SROBA plugin its faster with D2SROBA and CCE but its more setting up and messing with settings but made easier by following chickenmans guide :)

Depends on the length of the AVI (not size), also if you opt for two passes. Another factor I have found is if you use TMPGEnc for resizing or have AVISynth do it. AVISynth from recollection was ~30% faster, that was resizing down to VCD res though.
