how good is Benq

hi
just a simple question :D
how good are Benq's cd-rw?
i know that lite-on is the preferred one here, but anybody wanting to share his/her views on Benq's product?
regards

BenQ, formerly known as Acer makes some cheap and cheerful drives which are not raally worth looking at.
Either Lite-On or Hitachi/Lucky Goldstar are the sane choices.

yep I agree too .. got ACER (Benq) 12x .. it is POS .. makes coasters like there going outta fashion .. got Liteon 24x prefer to use that .. not one coaster yet ..

thx
but compared to samsungs ,what do u guys think?better or worse?
from where i live, benq & samsungs are most dominant and also among the cheapest writers.
liteon products :nearly non existant :(

regards

serjer I would go for the Samsungs not used any myself but they use to use their chip-set in Ricoh burners, and Ricoh burners used to B good. Just on that info alone or look at it as life of death.....Samsung hands down...

Shure about that,m8?
A lot of brands use LiteOns to rebadge.......tell us wich sort of burners are available where you live, and we probably can tell you if it's a rebadged LiteOn...:)

One if your old enough and hold a cc (credit card) could you not get mayB a lite-on from the web?
unfortunately no cc, & i'm finance restricted :(...until i get a job & start working ;)

mmm yeah...if u go to store X or Y or hypermarket Z,u will find mostly benq, samsung and in some stores asus ,sony, creative
as for liteon,it's very very rare, and if u could get one,it'll be more expensive...
moreover, from where i come, very few ppl know the existance of liteon :D

Nah, no way...
I prefer by far my HP.
It has a ricoh chipset in it... :D

Hey, y not try ordering 1 litey from professionalcomputers?
their price are quite high & has to wait for some time...they normally do not have it in stock,as from what i've heard ,but if they have an order, they will place an order and then u will get ur desired product.

LOL
Depends on ur luck bud...

The prob with samsung is that it heats too much.
Hmmm, guet fen si li pena yammie...

If you reside in the States or Canada, buy a Memorex burner (available anywhere). They are Lite-On drives, and they can be flashed with Lite-On firmware.
