How do you ID a DVD+R/W?

Hi Folks, I'm a newbie and I just purchased a KHypermedia 8x DVD+R/W drive from Officemax for after rebates of $70.00. Great deal and even went so far as to burn my first backup of a DVD utilizing DVDShrink and Nero6. I wanted to identify the mfg. of the drive. My XP system id's the drive as a Atapi DVD+RW 8x4x12, which belief to be somewhat accurate. I do not believe Khypermedia builds their own drives but buys them from one of the other worlds mfg.'s like Benq, or etc. The name plate on the unit does say Khypermedia made in Malaysia but I am hoping to get the most up to date driver/firmware possible for this new addition to my system.

The front panel doesn't look as minimal as the Cyberdrive, but it's also identified as only an 8x DVD reader, not a 12x.
