How Do i Use mIRC ?

Alright all I am just wondering how I use that mirc properly all I

can seem to do is chat but I know there is loads of commands

and things to do to get files off people but I don’t know how I

know it is something to do with the DCC but how it works



So if any one could gives a few pointers I would be grateful

errrrr, have you tried the help function in mIRC?
Pretty much explains how to use it & what everything does.
Also has link for more info on more commands.
Just start with those basics & eventually you'll catch on.
Commands are all very simple to use, you just have to know what they are.
Every command starts with a forward slash eg:
/nick shadoe
-this would change your nick or named used in IRC to the new one you wrote beside *in this case it would change to shadoe.

Then you get other special commands like !list
-this only functions if someone has put up some server with things for you to download from (could be !mp3 or whatever)

DCC function allows you to transfer files & chat with others in private, however you don't need to know the commands for these, as you can just simply use the gui interface.
Just double click a name & you have a private chat with that person.
Right click a name & you can choose to send them a file (plus a bunch of other things).
Anyhow, have a look at the help files & they should help you out some. Like anything, just takes getting used to.

Thanks Mate and i will give it all a try and i cant seem to find the irc.cdrsoft.cc port: 6666 channel: #cdrsoft chat room any where

goto options ---> add new server ---> new server = irc.cdrsoft.cc
connect
after connecting type: /j #cdrsoft

Also, joining a mirc channel is very easy if you use Trillian.. anyone use this also?, allows connection to icq Microsoft Messenger, Yahoo, Aol, Irc, all at the same time!.. just an idea.

too bad trillian has a lot of bugs & not supporting well yet the icq file transfers.
I doubt its file transfer works any better with other mIRC users.
Still a useful program for people who don't want to have all of the above apps running at the same time.
