How Do I Burn a Audio DVD disk?

Hello Everyone,
A friend asked me how to burn a Audio DVD Disk, I guess he wants to put hundreds of music files on it. I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure someone here has the knowledge to do this. I sure would appreciate all and any info you could give me. He has Nero burning software, is this the best or are there another that's better.

TIA

I guess I should have explain myself a lot better! What I'm trying to do is take a number of music cd's and burn them to a dvd-r disc so that I would have hours and hours of music that I could play on a regular home DVD player..........

Thanks for the reply anyway. This has got to be the most friendly Forum on the net.

I am also curious as to how to do this? I have a DVD player in my dash, I would love to be able to have a good 100 cd quality songs on one disc!! Somebody must know the answer

cheers!!

To master up a DVD-Audio disc, you need to use special DVD-Audio Mastering Software. It is not cheap. The procedure is similar to mastering a DVD-Video disc, but only with audio files.

Another route is to create a standard DVD-Video disc, with the tracks you want as the soundtrack tracks, chaptered at the start of each. You can either use a video loop, or just a black video track.

Third option is to dump a ton of .MP3s to the DVD and see if your player can make heads or tails of them. This is the least likely, but if it works, it is by far the easiest.

DVD-audio mastering software comes from Sonic (cheap but too fussy and limited), Sony (fullfeatured but costing a fortune) and Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD 7 which is not expensive, but as I have no experience with it I will decline recommending it.
Have in mind that AudioDVD can hold "just" 120 mins of audio, so unless you have 5+1 source material a plain audioCD is still way cheaper and easier to produce.

There is no reason why you cant author a normal movie DVD but with no video track, just audio tracks. Max number of tracks is limited to 99 though, but each "movie" can have up to 8 audio tracks.

If you convert your audio to 2 ch AC3 224bps, a whole 1hr album would take up apptox 150meg so you could fit around 30 albums on one DVD. You need to make one audio track from a whole album though but then you could put in chapter points at each song.

This is NOT an Audio-DVD, just an audio DVD !

insert the the blank dvd

run up ur fav burn proggy DVD of course

select ALL the MP3 files u want
