How do i back up METALLICA ST ANGER

how do I back up MetallicA St. Anger

CloneCd and Alcohol does not even see the CD in either of my burners. One burner is a TDK CDRW4800B the other is a Optorite CD-RW CW2802.

Any Ideas on how I can back this CD up...

Thanks Jay.......

Welcome...to our forum :)
1.What OS are you using and do you have this problem with other CD's also is this a orginal CD your trying to
backup?
2. Please check your ASPI layer on your system most system are happy with v 4.60 build 1021.
You can check by using this tool aspichk or Nero Tool v103 or v2 all these can be found by doing a search
on here or on the web.If there are any files missing after your test you will have to install your aspi layers.
3.Aspi layers/drivers there are many type many of which are located on this forum also, but to most the
v4.60 is the most stable, theres also a package called forceaspi which will force install the aspi onto
your system on again this is also on this forum...
Just enter Aspi or forceaspi into the search field above just below the CDRBase.com banner this will located post
with these in...

There is not protection on it--afaik......I got a cd image from somebody made with Alcohol120..Just this night i ripped it to hd,so i can have it there...Ripped ok--np..I dont have a cd here, but are you sure its a protected..maybe is a cd-extra??Is it all cda tracks there..Or there is some diffrent files like video clips or things like that?

@zver he/she can't see the CD on their driver to tell you what data if any is on there and no protection was mentioned.
That is way I had asked tajay to check aspi and report back if this happens with other CD's..Still thanks zver for your help bro..;)

Heh best way 2 back it up is 2 throw it in the bin, it their worst ever album, metallica do NU metal lol

Thankfully i was able 2 listen 2 it b4 buyin it:)

Maybe check 2 see if U got Hide CDR media in CCD on, or Ignore illegal media in Alcohol, that might hide the CD contents

Still the disc makes a good drinks coaster:p

Aye could be an aspi prob, and as for possible protection the uk original i had was protection free...having said that i have had key2audio protected discs that have not showed up in my drives before now..

Well,if he-she can see all cds there except metallica??What got to do with aspi>>>Why he tryed clone or alcohol???He would go with nero,eac..whatever software...

Thanks Jay.......
Check my post in this thread .....sometimes you can tell what protection is used by checking the surface of the disc...:)

Thanks guys, So far this is the only music CD I haven't been able to backup (must have done a hundred so far). I even went to the TDK website and flashed the burner with the latest firmware, didn't work. Sombody mentioned turning off the hide CDR media, i'll give that a try. I'll also try nero..... (why I didn't the other night I have no clue lol).

1: Yup its the original Cd.
2: Running windows 98SE
3: could it be the key2audio protection that somebody mentioned? Because both Clone and Alcohol say "no cd in drive".

Thanks for all the input much appreciated........ Jay

Bud,if you really have that cd..??It has to be writenn some warning!!!!!!If it doesent says nothing its a regular audio cd or cd-extra which can be copied easily....Look for any ""strange""word on a disc--or on a cover!!

I backed my one up with CloneCD 4.2.0.2 - used the profile for audio + data whaterver its called, I dont have it on this PC at the mo...
Read with Samsung DVD , written with NEC NR9100A
No problems whatsoever

bought from CDWOW (Malaysian version) I'm not in Malaysia!

sounds pretty much like a cactus data shield disk to me or illegal TOC both can make the disk invisible to the drive :)

use clony xxl or alcoholer to make a profile or set either alcohol or clone cd up for datashield and use that to backup :)

alternativly use a disk tool such as ISO buster ,CDR diagnostic etc etc to manually extract the tracks from the disk !?

or finally MOUNT the disk using clone cd ,alcohol deamon tools etc etc and backup from the mounted image :)

Oh My God I'm A Moron

Sorry to have waisted everybody's time. I put the wrong CD in the drive..... I put the DVD in that you get when you buy the CD...

Ok somebody put me out of my misery please..... Just shoot me.

Sorry for waisting everybody's time.......

seeeeee ya..... Jay.....

threads merged as this finalizes this thread :)

@tajay always the simplest things in life eh !?

You shouldn't feel too bad... Once I was trying to figure out what had happened with my burner and could not see the blanks I was throwing in (all same badge) until I realized after 20+ minutes that i was inserting them wrong side up...
