how cloning anno1503?

Hello!

I've tried to make a backup of Anno 1503 with CloneCD, but I failed. I'm using a Plextor PXW2410A (supports efm-encoding and subchannels) to read the original cd and to burn the backup. But the game doesn't run. Even when I start the copy in my Teac 532S CD-ROM. Im using the following settings with maximum read and write speed. Please, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong??

[CloneCD ReadPrefs]
ReadSubData=1
RegenerateData=0
ReadSubAudio=1
AbortOnReadError=0
FastErrorSkip=0
ReadSpeedData=0
ReadSpeedAudio=0
IntelligentBadSectorScan=0
SectorSkip=100
NoErrorReport=0
FirstSessionOnly=0
AudioQuality=0
[CloneCD WritePrefs]
DontRepairSubchannelData=0
AlwaysCloseLastSession=1
AmplifyWeak=0
WriteSpeed=0

As stated in this post by Borni2k, Anno 1503 is protected by the latest SecuRom NEW copy protection which is supposed to be unburnable regardless of the hardware you are using.

OK. But is there another way, to get this game running? I've read in another thread, somebody is playing the new warcraft 3, which is also securom3 protected. Do I need a crack or something like that?

Thanks for any help.

Hmm, I've read the post of borni2k. I've installed virtual daemon 3.20 and activated securom emulation. The game is now loading from my CloneCD image but still not running. What do I wrong? And what are the version numbers in borni2k's post good for?

Sorry, for my newbie-questions.

You'll not be able to even emulate the copy protection without image modifications.
CloneCD'ed SecuRom v4.8x images won't work with DaemonTools!

All you can try is the following: go to daemon-tools.com, on the main site they have so-called MDS-files for some SecuRom protected games. But you'll have to EXACTLY follow their tutorial for dumping the image or it won't work...

Thank You for your advice. But in the meantime, I've found exactly what you are describing by searching the cd-freaks forum. The game is running now.

no problem...

just one thing (which afair doesn't even stand in the rules but nonetheless)...

generally it's not necessary to fully quote what someone said - it will only blow up the thread and eat up bandwidth... this is not meant as an offence, I'm just trying to point you to something you may not have thought about.

quoting is fine, but it's finer to only qoute the really necessary parts...

:)
