How can I fit a whole DVD movie on a single CD-R??

dvd to cdr
There are several usefull tutorials here that will walk you through the process of converting a dvd to divx (avi file). if you have a 900mb mpeg file then you need to split it into 2 parts and put on 2 cdr's i presume there in vcd/svcd format, try using the mpeg tools in tmpgenc to cut the file.
are you just trying to burn a 400mb avi to a cdr if so then any burning software will allow you to do this. if of course you trying to burn a vcd from an avi file then there is a big difference as the 400mb avi is a condensed format so when expanded into mpeg will be roughly be double the size of the original avi.
check the tutorials m8 maybe you will find your answer there.
folks round here will help as much as possible but also provide as much info about your problem as possible. remembering to state your pc specs and os and any relavent software you maybe trying to use.
