I am going to network 2 pc's- will it be better to have both machines on 98SE or 1 with XP Corp & the other with 98SE
TIA

All you suggested goes, it all is a matter of taste and what you set as important, The best if you look at reliabilety and stability is both computers on w2k or xp.

WinXP will make a floppy which can be used to set up a Win9x machine on the same network - though it may also introduce the UPNP vulnerability not normally found in Win9x.

Alternatively, it may be better to have them both on LINUX!
Cheaper than buying unneccessary copies of XP and adding to Bill G's already excessive bank balance.

Personally, I'll stick with Win98 myself until the last vestige of support is gone, and then debate that issue myself. I am NOT disposed to spend any extra money with the Microsoft monopoly though.
