hitman2

please has anyone managed to burn a perfect copy of hitman2...if so what protection has it got...scout + clony says securerom new..tried that but to no success...any help please...Chris

un copyable at the moment

i understand from other forums that this is currently uncopiable.
u may have to install then use no cd exe

i think it has the same protection as unreal tournament 2003 - newest version of securom (that's also what YaPS says)

tried to rip&burn it with DiscJuggler on a Litey 48x, can't even get the image running with Daemon-Tools, let alone burn it successfully.

Yep...SecuRom version 4. Very difficult to copy. A lot of speculation on this one. Some claim it uses twin sectors at the end of the disc, while others claim that there may be physical defects pressed into the disc. Now those familiar with the copy protection Tagés, will realize that it uses twin sectors as well. Tagés is another one of those difficult copy protections.

So for now just use the No-CD patch that is posted here in the Forum...it works great!

yeah, I've had ONE unreadable sector on both games the end...

both UT2k3 and hitman2.

i think that supports the "twin sector" thesis...

Well 15 coasters later...ive made a backup of hitman2..works fine execpt u cant run it from a burner.....i used blindwrite wrote backup on plex 8/20 at 1x and made bwa on a mitsumi cdrom at 1x....so far my plex has held up...but now iam starting to get worried i will have to do a burner upgrade soon the way this copy protection crap is goin....btw i think doin ur bwa and burnin at 1x is ur best bet to get a workin backup....hope this helps

Greetz:) :D

I haven't used BlindWrite so far, I'm using Alcohol 120% instead. It supports many more copy protections, and that without questionable methods like Twinpeaks but with methods that will work for sure or at least be able to be updated so your CDs will run again - which is not the case with Twinpeaks. If you have questions concerning this, meet me in the Daemon-Tools Forum or in the Alcohol Forum.
