Hi im from sunny scotland and im largeman, i have had a couple of successful converts from avi to dvd/dvdr but in the last 4 days ive wasted 20 dvdr disks i need help or the wife will divorce me coz im stuck to my comp tying to convert these damn avi's, i got a pioneer dvd 16x burner and all the software thats mentioned on all the sites but i cant get the conversion\burn thing working 100% so any advice would be appreciated, i tried chickenmans tute but i cant really get it to work..............cheers guys

If your burner supports dvdrw, that would be the first thing to change. You can rewrite over and over again untill you get it correct. Then burn to dvdr. As far as what is going wrong, I would try GSpot to find out all the info about the file in question. Might be that you need to install a different codec for it to author correctly.

Welcome bud <> yep practice on DVDRW <> if U are following chookie Mans tute PRINT it & follow it to the letter & if things go wrong post on the forum giving as much detail as possible & any error reports etc!

thanx for the replies guys, i burned one dvd using chickenman's tute but there was a BIG BLUE BANNER at the bottom of the screen saying cinema craft encoder CCE is there anyway to avoid this, and if the avi file im trying to convert has
video 25.0 fps 480*346(4:3) MPEG4
audio 96kbs 44100HZ

can i convert it to play on dvd and will i need to converet the audio to 48000hz, i have tried converting this avi quite a lot :mad: , so ill read chickenman's tute again and see if i done something wrong............by the way the place i dload my avi's from wont let me filter out the avi's so that they have the desired qualities i.e right width and correct frame rate and data rate, thanks for your help guys and if there is ANY SITES YOU WOULD RECOMMEND FOR DLOADING AVI'S i would appreaciate it.

this is price for using CCE as free version; you can buy CCE, then you won't have the logo anymore;

have a look at this thread: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=40449
and please reread our rules: http://dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=5446

thread closed by me; reason: obviously undesirable requests;
