Hi just loined need help with QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241

I have a sony vaio with a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241. Basicly it won't read anything . I downloaded the firmware update QS-4VS040802HG03US.EXE , but when i try to use it my computer locks up. Need help !!!!

reread the firmware update's ReadMe file; maybe there are preconditions for updating; e.g. the QSI drive must be master at the 2nd IDE channnel;
