Hi all, bit of advice needed

Was wondering if someone can list the software needed for converting and burning a downloaded avi file to DVD? i dont seem to be getting anywhere so i'll start from scratch and try and do it right this time!

Hi, thanks for the reply, i thought i'd read that its only compatable with 2000/xp? i'm running ME. I've still downloaded it and tried it but it doesnt seem to work. any more help or advice much appreciated.

Get with it from the start change to 2000/Xp nearly a must working with DVD's (due to file size mainly)

U wont regret changing <> trust me!

I've already tried xp and i didnt like it cause it messed up 90% of my installed hardware/software so i reverted back to ME, if its a must then i suppose i'll have to make the switch. Also, how much HD space is required when converting/burning? i've heard people talk about 15-20 gig but they were on about DVD backup's, mines purely for conversion.

U will still need about that much <> when U install XP do a clean install <> BUT get all the latest drivers/versions of s/ware before u do it.

I've been offered a really high spec brand new laptop for the right price, as i'm short of space this is ideal, it only has a CD-RW drive though, Can you burn VCD/SVCD onto standard CD's?

Yes. Thats the most common way to burn them.
