Just picked up a LG GSA4040B and have backed up 1/2 dozen of my movies using DVDshrink 3 beta 5 and Nero 6 on some Princo and Memorex blanks and I am running at a 50% success rate :( . The ones that are bad freeze up on my stand alone home DVD players around 3/4 of the way through so I have decided on some different blanks and also trying the DVDdecrypt/DVDshrink/Burnatonce method just to see if my success rate improves.

Great site/info and I will share what I learn as I go :D

Welcome - and that's a great attitude - none of us were experts when we started ... not that I could claim to be now!

A coaster is only wasted, if you don't learn how to avoid it next time!

freezing around 3/4 playback time is mostly a "bad media" problem; try to get DVDRs made by Ritek;
