help!!

i have _NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD dvdr thinger. whenver i open up sonic it says no recordable or rewrtibale devices are found on your computer... i dont know how to burn a damn dvd pls somone help



also i have an ati 9800 pro. At one point my dvd player didnt even show up in my computer, and i found some registry thing online that made it work. if that helps anyone trying to help me...

Was the software included with the drive? - It it's software you already had, then it might not recognise a newer drive, or it may be a tied bundle version.

Is it Windows XP? - you often have to disable the built-in burning servivice as it can conflict with some other software.

it is windows xp, so what should i do, i dont remmeber upgrading the dvd burner software though i should but i dont know where to go

ive done everything, updated the aspi stuff everything, still it says burner cannot be found.. im really stuck, any registry help?

1. 1st up which version of sonic MyDVD are you using?
As I just checked their homepage and version 5 supports your drive.
2. Did the burner work with this before hand?
3. Go and update your recording engine getting updates from within the links
4. Back up any project which you may have saved on you PC if any (from Sonic MY DVD) and try uninstalling the program once again reboot PC and reinstall, and see if the program recognize your NEC burner.
