Well today I bought my Sony DVDR DW-U10A firmware v:1.1d and I'm running xp sp1 and for burning soft nero 60011.
I haven't got much experience on dvd-burnings..
When I try to burn a dvd using nero about the half of simulation/burning I got a message burnprocess failed , but when I use nero express it writes it ok...
Can someone help me?Does anyone know if nero 60011 has the classic wizard menu?It was very useful sometimes....

Make sure that you stop/disable the IMAPI service; either use the following (save all between the lines to a file such as disableimapi.reg), or you can go into Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Services:

Many times this can conflict with other burning software. If not, there may be an older version of EZCDCremator on your system - that can have the same effect, since the IMAPI built-in CD burning service in XP is made by them.

I just got that one too
Never Use Nero for DVD <> Recordnowmax & Alcohol for me.

U may see on the web that U can change it to a 500 DRA or whatever with firmware DONT DO IT (so I am advised)

I find its a great burner burns ALL 4x Media I have got my hands on @ 4x be they Ritek or cheapos.
It also burns 2x @ 2x which a lot of burners will not do.;)

Well thanx guys for your help @ipdave I have formatted my pc last week and I never use any of Roxio's programs..
@The-poacher yes just find that out as I was searching for any updated firmware..
But how do U explain the fact that it writes the dvdr using nero express?
Yes it's a very good dvd-recorder I'm using dvd-r sentinel 4x which I bought from a shop here..They're ok. :)

Well I'm trying to burn with Nero a movie that I backuped with dvd-shrink.I gi to the creation of a DVD-Video , I put the VIDEO files in the VIDEO_TS folder.
When I'm going to burn it (simulation of course) I get : Program Memory Area update failure.
I have my dvd-recorder master and have installed the nero 60015 and now I'm running nero 551050.I get this message on both programs.
Please help me!!

Thanx bionic for the updated firmware.
I can burn cd's.
Yes I have dma enabled.I'm gonna format my putter and if doesn't work I will ask for the changement.
What program do you use for burning the dvds?

Hold on :) dont format yet! Might be some of the more knowledgeable members will stop by and give you more input.
Right now i use nero 551050, mainly because my burner is not supported 100% by recordnow.
If it supports your burner i would recommend giving it a try.

If your Sony was a boxed one, then it came bundled with a perfectly working RecordNowDX 4.6 OEM version, which actually works with any burner...

Well guys I've formatted my pc!Clean intall!
I installed then nero60015.When I tried to simulate for the first time the simulation was working.I left my dvd burning cause it was too late!!! and
in the morning I got simulate failed.I put another dvd and then i got the same!PMA (Progam memory Access) update failure ..No my burner is bulk.Ok I'm going to give RecordNow Max later when I return from work.
I've tried nero551050 and I got the same error..

You can flash your burner with DRU-500a firmware if you wish... you can find full instructions at a sticky in the Firmware Forum.

Don't burn DVD's using DVD-Video in Nero, Select DVD-UDF/ISO option, iso 2.

Read ChickenMans tutorials on burning with Nero

Well tried Recordnow max after sometime of burning I got a failure.
I phoned my dealer and he said that it's surely from the cd's and that sony recommends a brand of dvd-r.
I don't think that it's from the dvd-rs.I tried burning with chickenman's guide and I got the same message PMA update failure.
It might be from the nforce drivers..

Well I've installed it as slave and have successfully writen a dvd!!
Searched for firmware (direct from sony) and found out that my dvd -recorder is not supported!Only the dru500a.There is an updated firmware for it..Visited bionic's site for firmware and found a firmware
v.1.1e but when I downloaded it it's in Japanese and I'm afraid doing the update...
Phoned my dvd-recorder dealer and said that it's from the dvd's that
I use..They're sentinel dvd-r 4x..Has anyone using the same model of dvdrecorder done the update to 1.1e?
Do U suggest doing the update to dru500a?
