Help with TMPGE

Hi im new and need some help with converting divx to mpeg i have done it once but now having trouble with a couple of things
I have also got the afonic guide

1. when using TMPGE wizard on the screen where you can change the bitrate setting (step 5 on the guide) it comes up on the movie info line the movie is 240 mins long but its only 120 mins long and it wont allow be to reduce the bar at the bottom to under 100 %

2. No audio after converting (is it because the audio is mpeg layer 3)

Not that good with computers as you can probably notice any help would be great cheers

also is there another program the same as tmpge but easier (idiot proff)

1. Try using the source range setting.

2. No idea, you have the file not me. It is vbr mp3 audio by the way that TMPGEnc has trouble with. Regular CBR streams are fine.

Sorry for being thick but what do i need to do to the source range setting ?
is there a step by step guide avalible

Guide? No idea. If you are using the wizard; after you have selected your source, tick the source range option and then enter the start frame as the start and the end frame as the end. TMPGEnc should hopefully then get the length right.
