Help with Plextor PX-708A firmware update

Hi

I’m new to using DVD burners, I’ve read about the firmware upgrade to the Plextor PX-708A. I would like to use this update when I receive my new burner, the only problem is that I’ve never updated a DVD drive before and I’m a little concerned about using the update correctly.

If anyone could guide me in the way to use update and not go wrong I would be very grateful?

This may seem very easy to experienced users, but I just don’t want to ruin my new burner.

The Plextor Site where U download the fimware should explain how to do it <> there are a few ways its done depending on the manufacturer etc.

Be advised flashing firmware can F**k your drive (rare never happenened to me) especially if U get it wrong!!
Also ask yourself do I need the firmware if your drive is working fine dont bother <> again the download site should explain what the firmware will do.

for example I just flashed my Sony 500 with the latest firmware which made it burn more DVDR @ 4 speed
